About Us

How we began

Yarmouth Greyhound Homefinders was founded in 1999 by the Yarmouth Stadium owner Mr Stephen Franklin.

With the welfare of the greyhounds a priority, Stephen decided that all greyhounds should have a loving home when their racing careers were over.

We now have a very successful rehoming set-up based at Hainford in Norfolk.

Since 1999 we have found homes for well over 2500 greyhounds and have made many friends both human and canine on the way..

With the help of Social Media, Open Days at the Kennels, organised Greyhound Walks, our volunteers, people who have adopted a greyhound and many other things we have a very happy and supportive greyhound community.

We have five paid members of staff (Molly is the Kennels manager. Molly is ably assisted by Dana, Ash, Alex and Emma who all work part time).

But without our volunteers we just could not function.

Why choose us?

  • we are a small, independent charity committed to finding the right home for the right retired greyhound and to provide the best possible care to greyhounds while they are awaiting adoption
  • we provide all the help and support that adopters need, from helping them to choose the right dog for them through to providing support and advice throughout the dog’s life.
  • Molly, our kennels manager, loves greyhounds. She has a deep understanding of greyhounds, their nature and needs. This not only helps to ensure that the greyhounds in our kennels receive the best possible care and love but also helps Molly to match the right dog with the right home
  • we have a growing band of volunteer helpers who can provide additional support to adopters. Our volunteers also help to care for the dogs waiting to be adopted and raise funds for the Charity.

There are two people, in particular, whom you may well meet or talk to.

Corinne Douglas

Corinne is our co-ordinator and has been doing a wonderful job running Homefinders for the last 9 years. She currently has two greyhounds JJ and Summer. If you call Homefinders it will probably be Corinne that you talk to.

Molly Paul

Molly, pictured with Honey an ex-long term resident, is our kennel manager and has been with us for 13 years. Firstly as a volunteer then kennel assistant and then manager. She is much loved by all our greyhounds and all our volunteers.

Join us.

Whether you adopt a greyhound, donate towards running our charity or join our band of volunteers you will be made very welcome.
